Made to order from your photo: Stitched-Effect Wall Art, Embroidery-Effect Pillow.

## How it's made

One small studio. How a portrait is made and finished, and what to know before you order one.

Crafted using innovative, high-end embroidery-effect technology inspired by the latest advancements showcased in luxury design exhibitions worldwide. This sophisticated technique goes beyond conventional methods, capturing even the finest details, from delicate facial expressions to intricate textures and subtle shading. The result is an exceptionally realistic, beautifully raised embroidery effect with remarkable depth, precision, and a rich, luxurious finish you can truly feel.

The finished piece goes into a slim walnut frame for the wall, or is trimmed and pressed into the front of a 45 cm pillow for the sofa.

Made here, sold on Tedooo

Every Threadift piece is bought on Tedooo, the marketplace we sell through. Tedooo handles the payment and the tracking, and its preview draws your design from your photo before we make anything, so what you approve is what we make.

Once a piece ships, track it on Tedooo with the number from your order email.

## Shipping, returns and care

URL: https://www.threadift.com/about

Size & materials: Framed portraits: 30 × 30 or 50 × 50 cm; Pillow: 45 × 45 cm (18 × 18 in); Ground: Natural linen; Frame: Slim walnut, ready to hang; Finish: Raised embroidery effect

Shipping: Made and packed in our studio, wrapped in tissue and tracked end to end. Pillows reach most addresses in two and a half to three and a half weeks; framed portraits in about five. The estimate for yours is shown before you pay.

Before you buy: Made for one person, so it is not returnable. Ask us anything before you buy and we will answer properly, usually the same day. The approved design is what we make.

Hanging & care: Framed portraits arrive ready to hang; pillows go straight on the sofa. Dust a frame with a soft dry cloth and keep it out of hours of strong direct sun, which fades any fabric in time. Spot-clean a pillow with a damp cloth and mild soap; no bleach, and press it from the back on a low heat.

## Questions

What makes a good photo to send?: One subject, or two close together, roughly facing the camera, with their eyes visible. Daylight helps. It does not need to be sharp; most of what we work from is a phone photo of a dog on a sofa. What we cannot work from is a subject facing away, or a whole crowd on one pillow.

How is the portrait made?: Tedooo's design technology draws it from your photo, and you approve it before anything happens. Then it is made with advanced embroidery-effect technology that captures the finest details, from facial expressions to fur texture and subtle shading, so the finished portrait has a raised embroidery effect with real depth that you can feel.

Which size should I pick?: The framed portraits come 30 × 30 or 50 × 50 cm. The 30 suits a hallway, a shelf or the wall by the stairs; the 50 holds its own above a sofa or a sideboard. The pillow is one size, 45 × 45 cm, a full sofa cushion.

Can I add a name, or a style?: Yes to both. Type up to 20 characters under your photo, a name or two or a short line, and it is added to the design. Pillows also take a style: Halloween, Christmas, Grey Shades, Color Pop or Celestial Night, drawn round the portrait; leave it on Auto and the design follows your photo. If it comes back with something you did not ask for, change it and draw it again. It stays free until you approve one.

Can I send it as a gift?: Yes, and most of what we make leaves as one. Put their address at checkout and it goes straight to them, wrapped in tissue. For Christmas, order framed portraits by 15 November and pillows by 28 November.

How do I look after it?: A framed portrait wants nothing but a soft dry cloth over the frame now and then, and a wall out of hours of strong direct sun, which fades any fabric in time. For a pillow, spot-clean the front with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, never bleach, and press it from the back on a low heat if it creases.
